Nausea is a common occurrence, and may be caused a variety of triggers, including food poisoning, motion sickness, migraines, food allergies, drug side-effects and disease.
How CBD May Help With Nausea
One of the earliest recognized therapeutic applications of the Cannabis Sativa hemp plant was treating nausea. In 1985 the FDA approved the first cannabinoid drug as a treatment for nausea associated with cancer treatment. Since then, additional research has added support to using CBD to reduce or prevent nausea and vomiting, in a variety of situations.
Both CBD, as well as cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), have been shown to reduce or prevent vomiting in numerous animal studies. Currently there is no published research on humans that looks at the use of CBD to treat nausea, but there are many case studies and patient testimonies to support that CBD works the same for people. Cannabigerol or CBG, another component found in hemp, may also benefit nausea through its known ability to modulate gut function and improve gut-related disorders.
